As Shakira unveiled her 12th studio album ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran’ on Friday, the news was also announced.
Shakira and Cardi B have blessed us with their latest music video for “Puntería”! The video showcases Shakira singing in a unique bubble, Lucien Laviscount from Emily in Paris getting hit with an arrow while dressed as a centaur, and plenty of steamy dance routines. This song is from Shakira’s newest album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, which is her first album in seven years, since El Dorado was released in 2017.
The latest album released on Friday features a total of 16 tracks sung by the acclaimed artist. Among them are eight fresh songs, a new remix, and seven previously popular singles such as “Music Sessions Vol. 53” with Bizarrap, “TQG” with Karol G, “Monotonía” with Ozuna, “Te Felicito” with Rauw Alejandro, and “Copa Vacía” with Manuel Turizo. In a behind-the-scenes interview on the music video set, Shakira, 47, and Cardi, 31, discuss how their collaboration came to be, as shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the fan page Cardi All Access.
Cardi B shared a funny story about meeting Shakira for the first time in Paris at a Fendi show. She admits being nervous but wanted to get close to her, so she waited until she was called over. Shakira, on the other hand, had always wanted to collaborate with Cardi on a song. She mentioned that Cardi was her first choice and they ended up working together. The duo had a blast working together, with Cardi showing her willingness to put in the long hours just like Shakira. The whole experience was fun and easy for both artists.
Shakira reached out to Cardi, and Cardi was over the moon with excitement. She knew this day would come and was grateful for the opportunity. “I don’t care what she asks me to do, even if it’s meowing – I’m in! It’s a dream come true,” the “Up” singer exclaimed. Cardi expressed her admiration for Shakira’s music videos, noting the attention to detail and care put into each aspect, from the angles to the dancing. The collaboration was a dream come true for Cardi, who couldn’t wait to work with the legendary Shakira.
